MGM+ has ordered a six-episode limited series for “Earth Abides,” based on George R. Stewart’s sci-fi novel of the same name. The series, which begins production in Vancouver on April 8, will star “Vikings’” Alexander Ludwig and will be helmed by showrunner Todd Komarnicki.
I found the book to be phenomenally depressing, so I'll give the series a pass.
