As I've said many times before. You pay for crap on your Kindle, on iTunes, whatever. Idiot. Without hard physical copies, you own nothing. Those services can delete your stuff with a keystroke and there's nothing you can do about it.
They cleverly manipulate you, but all that fine print outweighs the "purchase" button. Pity that politicians can be bought, or this wouldn't be a thing.
Anyway, latest case in point. Apparently Playstation customers have been able to "purchase" TV shows. Sony has announced to them that any Discovery product will be deleted from their libraries, no longer available to the "purchasers" ever again.
I glance over to my DVD and CD collection and laugh.
Now stop buying from Steam. Go with GOG and do the downloads so you actually have what you spent money on, and no one can take it from you.
That is, until the fatal Microsoft tweak to Windows that will make all your stuff unusable anyway.
